south asian-americans face the difficult task of striking a balance between their two worlds: traditional versus american. children of immigrants are given the privilege of a better life than their parents. cultural expectations from the motherland are restricting and paralyzing. my project aims to start a conversation about the deep anxiety my community faces when making decisions, and how we can move past our internalized immigrant guilt in order to truly start living for ourselves.
